Looking for a Unique Cake? Talk about Bridal Inspiration!

Unique, interesting and delicious wedding cakes have been experiencing increased interest from couples as a major element to their special day. I mean, who hasn’t seen the amazing cake creations on our Instagram and Pinterest feeds? They’re incredible! When making your decision on which type of cake and what you want it to look like, there are many, many different options!

Nature Inspired Trees

Cakes inspired by the beauty of nature, especially trees, can make for stunning, personal and venue appropriate cakes! In Colorado, birch cakes are very popular for mountain side venues or any other ceremonies that take place al fresco! You can also incorporate succulents (one of my favorite items for wedding decor) and a beautiful stand!

Nature Inspired Earth

There are so many other aspects in nature that make for beautiful wedding cakes! Whether it be a painted on landscape or foliage accents or the stunning geode cakes that have been taking the internet by storm, nature makes for stunning decor.

Ombre

Ombre is the craze for everything: hair, clothes, dye jobs and now, wedding cakes! Ombre is a great way to include a few different colors in a subtle way. Going all out with some colors can be to bold and loud, check out these great touches of ombre on wedding cakes to add extra style.

Metallic Accents

Obviously we love cakes with gold accents! But you can have accents of silver, bronze or give your favorite color that metallic flair! This is a great way to class up your cake and add some truly unique patterns, layers or designs!

Flower Cascade

Flower cascades have to be one of the most elegant ways to bring in pizzaz, color and beauty to your wedding cake. Many people closely identify with a type of flower, so what better way to have your fave florals as the main stage to your wedding cake?

Semi-Naked and Naked

The semi-naked cake is one of my favorite new fads because I’m not a huge fan of icing, and I love the look! You can make them so many different ways! Add whipped cream and strawberries, or just lots of berries in general, florals, make it a funteti cake for added color, or make them “semi-naked” for more texture!

Classic White

White is timeless, we all know this. Have a base white wedding cake and add some personality through soft, elegant decor or put a colorful other dessert next to it or add some beautiful texture or flowers!
