We love summer stems! The summer wedding season is an excellent opportunity for wedding florists to really flex their talent. This week we are featuring The Perfect Petal to inspire you to really look for and appreciate stunning summer florals.
The Perfect Petal is a Denver-based florist and boutique, supplying incredibly fresh and vibrant designs. They have worked all across Colorado, often working alongside some of our favorite vendors such as The Broadmoor and Four Seasons Vail.
“We believe in the celebration. We believe in illustrating the bride’s singular story in her flowers, in her fabrics, and in unique touches that forever say, “this day is hers.” Our designers are aligned in their love of flowers and passion for trend. The independent farms that we choose grow the prettiest, strongest, most unusual stems that we know of and we love sharing them with our brides!“
We were able to interview Kitzel, the lead wedding designer about summer floral trends and their favorite stems to work with during the summer months. After reading the interview, be sure to check out their availability on their Gold Calendar profile!
Have you noticed any color trends/style trends for your upcoming summer 2017 weddings?
Muted palettes are still going strong. Think muddy palettes for a new twist on blush using ochres, sands and vintage creams paired with textural greenery and twiggy stems. We’ve seen bright palettes coming back into style in the past few years, but don’t think distasteful, think gorgeous, over flowing juicy designs that scream summer. Bright can be so beautiful!
We also are seeing green, organic trending with oversized bouquets and lush, textural designs. Other trending floral elements at weddings are garlands, hanging installations, and larger than life backdrops with all floral elements.
What are your favorite florals to work with during the summer?
Dahlias! These are some of the most gorgeous full petal blooms that we can source locally during the late summer months. Garden roses are also gaining popularity amongst the slow flower farmers and are gorgeous blooms to add to any bouquet.
What kinds of vessels/flower holders are the most popular for holding flowers during the summer time?
In Colorado, summer is all about being unique to the couple. Depending on location, it really depends on what the bride is trying to convey on the day of the wedding. For luxe, timeless affairs clear glass, gold and silvers can be used to create a truly elegant look. For brides looking for more unique vessels, we unique vessels such as antlers, lanterns and geometrics to really pair to the couples unique taste.
Can you remember a favorite wedding/arrangement that you have created during the summer?
We love this gorgeous look that was for an elegant wedding we designed at Four Seasons Vail. Lush greens and all whites will never go out of style.
We are so thankful that The Perfect Petal took the time to answer our questions, and we can’t wait to keep our eyes open for dahlia and garden roses in their summer creations!
